Neil Moore – Head of Hardware - UK Engineering

I initially joined Megger on a temporary three-month contract in October 2004 where I was given a quick course in what makes Megger the leader in insulation testing, and worked on the 5 kV and 10 kV testers under development. Coming from a defence background, I was able to introduce my skills in designing to meet EMC requirements to integrate with Megger's proven designs for safety in its products. I am proud to know that there are people who (knowingly or unknowingly) owe their lives to the safety built into Megger products.

Working with the small, highly skilled team of hardware engineers has helped me grow as an engineer. We tackle issues ranging from reasonably mundane circuit design, to reading inaccuracies caused by plastic conduction, and even consider ways to mitigate safety issues caused by the disconnection of test leads when carrying high currents.

I have recently been promoted to lead the Hardware Design team and am proud to lead such a dedicated, skilled group of engineers.
