Freddie Chin – Senior Hardware Engineer

“I have had the privilege of being a named inventor in several patents, part of various teams that have created award-winning products, and asked to represent our trade association in IEC technical committees”

I joined Megger in March 2005 as a Product Development Engineer.  Having worked in the semiconductor material testing and telecommunications devices industries, I was grateful to return to more mainstream electronics engineering.

I joined a small team of very experienced engineers to help develop an innovative new two-wire loop resistance tester. During that time, I learnt a tremendous amount about electronics design principals, design for safety in accordance with international standards, signal processing, and general good engineering practice. This pattern of learning continued for the next  18 years of my career within Megger, taking me from a junior engineer role to a team leader, then a Project Manager, Head of Hardware, and now a Senior Hardware Engineer which I enjoy the most as a technically oriented person.

I have had the privilege of being a named inventor in several patents, part of various teams that have created award-winning products, and asked to represent our trade association in IEC technical committees. Megger supported my career aspirations, gave me opportunities to grow into roles outside my comfort zone, and continues to challenge me to become a better engineer.
