David Pitkin – Test Gear Trainee Manager

“This apprenticeship was a four-year commitment that I successfully completed in 2012, marking the foundation of my career with Megger”

I began my career at Megger as an apprentice in September 2008, in the Test Gear team within the Engineering department. This apprenticeship was a four-year commitment that I successfully completed in 2012, marking the foundation of my career with Megger.

I've had the privilege of progressing within the organisation, and I currently hold the dual role of Test Gear Trainee Manager/Test Engineer. This was made possible through the professional development opportunities provided by Megger, highlighting the company's commitment to fostering talent from within its ranks.

In my present position, I lead a versatile and multi-disciplinary team. Our primary focus is the development of bespoke production equipment designed to facilitate the calibration and testing of Megger's diverse range of products, as well as PCB and sub-assembly tests. This encompasses a range of engineering disciplines, including electrical and electronics design, mechanical and machining operations, and software development.

This work requires team members to be creative in their endeavours, with attention to detail and the engineering of innovative solutions being essential in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of Megger's products.
